Our mission identifies in broad strokes the actions that advance our vision. |
To worship God with joy, excitement, and commitment. |
Worship – expressed in active, celebrative and participatory liturgy – stands as the central and most anticipated activity in our church home. We find sustenance and strength in praising our God. |
To introduce Christ and His teachings to all who seek Him. |
Weare called to share the Good News of salvation. Almost everyone in our culture has heard of Christ Jesus, but not everyone knows Him. And, sadly, Christ's teachings are sometimes misrepresented. We are blessed in bringing Christ to the stranger and the stranger to Christ. We can serve no greater purpose. |
To live in love, centered on God and drawn together by the Holy Spirit. |
“Jesus said, “The first commandment is this: ... Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is like unto it: Love your neighbor as yourself’". Alone, we imperfect humans struggle to fully keep these commandments. But drawn together in the Holy Spirit and centered in God, we just might! |
To welcome everyone to our sanctuary for prayer, praise, and
refreshment. |
Our "home away from home" follows an open door policy. We intend that everyone should find a haven here. We strive to create an environment of prayer, praise and hope where God revitalizes us in body and spirit, preparing us to go forth to love and serve the Lord. |
To enrich our common life by drawing upon our Episcopal traditions. |
We believe in one church - the one, holy, universal, body of Christ. At the same time, we treasure the history and traditions of our Episcopalian roots and draw upon them to enrich our worship and spiritual practices. |
To share Christ's love with our neighbors through prayer, work, and
friendship. |
Our church doesn't sit off by itself in a cornfield. We have neighbors, and we want to work, pray and make friends with them for the benefit of all God's creation. So we seek to serve where there is poverty, pain or loss -- offering food, hugs, a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on and the love of Christ to anyone seeking them. In all these ways, we are confident that God will provide every resource we need to help fulfill His work in the world. |
That is our mission. |
